Around where i live we also call them deer deflectors. They are really good for chanelling them under the vehicle instead of into or over it. Deer are hot on the reg here ive hot 3 this year

The top five reasons people buy stinger bumper
#1. they think they're gangster with one
#2. it protects their winch if they have one
#3. Deflects animals (like deer)
#4. In a wreck, way less damage to your XJ
#5. stop trees and rocks before your radiator does...

Stingers are gangster! But really I rolled my ZJ monday and when I did my bumper, I didn't put a stinger on it. Now my hood is all crushed in. Really makes me wish I had a stinger put on it. Nothing big but one that extended about 3 inches above my hood. A little too late now though.

when I helped build a stinger for my buddies jeep it was for helping with climbing rocks, protecting winch also added a hook spot so his hands never actually got close to the rolers on the winch, preventing jeep from front fliping flat on to its roof, keeping objects from the lights and radiator.

I have personally seen a stinger bumper prevent front roll over on 5 seperate accounts, i would say that that is the main functional purpose of a stinger

Too scare the bah Jesus out of oncoming traffic, and help push pedestrians out of the way. In a crowded parking lot.

I looked and couldn't find that exact jeep. I'm just curious to see the setup with the flats on it.

Btw. That is the worst bumper I have ever seen. Look at it from different angles on google images. It sticks out two feet in front of the XJ and is not raised at all. It is not angled from the bottom so it will stop you dead in your tracks if you ever have to push yourself to slide onto anything. Your Jeep would have to be lifted like 10 inches for that not to get in the way almost constantly while wheeling. r

Here is a pic from the side. I literally cannot think of another bolt on piece of equipment for an xj that would ruin the approach angle/clarence as much as this. It looks like it was design to get you over and get you stuck when you try to back up. And thats without the bolt on stinger yet.

Again, just looking for the specs with the bushwackers...

I think the stinger looks ok but I wouldn't buy one from RC. It just doesn't seem sturdy enough to me. The one in the picture was still in its prototype stage.
