I think everyone should play with a stock jeep at least once before lifting it. This rut was gnarly for a stock jeep back then, swallowed my 235s.

Totally agree, it helps build skill and knowledge progressively. Plus modding your jeeps suspension is a must so you know how it goes together so when it breaks you aren't as baffled

Exactly, I feel like I know what my jeep is capable of right now. also I have a good feel of how big it is and I know where my front end and corners are at all times. I scare my passengers because I can goo past poles in a parking lot or close to a corner going around a turn, because of my practice I have on the trail. Like I don't even question where I'm at or how close to something I am, it's natural feeling now.

Stock is fun till you can't go somewhere someone else can. Then its time for lift, tires and lockers. I had my jeep for about 6 months and got stuck a few times. That's when I knew it was a time for a lift.

I ran mine stocked out for a few months and put it through it's paces ha! I sometimes look back and miss it but then i remember that half of what i wheel now i couldn't do stock, time and place for everything. Though i wish before i lifted it that i trimmed and ran 31s just all beefed out!

I wheeled my bone stock ZJ for a long time, I was very impressed with the capabilities of my ZJ in stock form. I finally lifted it a few months ago.

If I knew now what I knew then, I would have put a limited slip in the rear, kept the 235s and called it a day.
