stolen cherokee - portland, or
My jeep just got stolen this morning from in front of my house near 85th and Stark in SE Portland, OR. It's a 1992 Cherokee Laredo painted OD green, with a 3.5" lift and 33" tires. If anyone happens to see it or hear anything about it I would really like it if you would let me know. I would like to have it back. At this point I feel like my best bet would be getting it back minus the wheels and all the tools that I had inside, but I don't even care. It was my daily driver and only vehicle.

Well, the more appropriate question would be "what wasn't missing?"
Funny thing though. 33" Goodyear MT/Rs, still there. Cobra bluetooth CB radio, still there.
Everything else useful was gone. Lots of tools, kids carseat, Painting equip, ladder, roof rack, hi-lift, eyeglasses, and my coat.
suspiciously, there was a motorcycle helmet in the backseat, and they cleaned my battery terminals. WTF?

most likely it was nothing but a get from a to b theft. and the stealing of the stuff inside was just a bonus.. Portland isn't exactly known for not having crime. I'm from Eugene.. My brothers from portland and I have plenty of stories about gangs and kids in that town stealing cars strictly to get away from someone or something.

Don't worry, Portland PD is going to do next to nothing to find the perps if they haven't already. Vehicle theft is not investigated in Portland, OR with any fervor, according to the cops and deputy D/A who was assigned to my case - they told me that I was lucky to get my jeep back, and said that the drug dealer crowd likes them for running drugs and hauling portable Meth labs into the back country logging roads.
Hope you can get her put back to rights, and install a remote kill switch for the ignition.
Cheers.

I've always feared this to happen to my Jeep, so I think I'll invest the $400 into an Entourage GPS tracking device. You can buy them at Escort Radar online. There's also a $300 battery-powered model. You can place the device anywhere in a vehicle.
