I was going to go semi roofless and trimming the b-pillar down to just above the hinges and latch points. It occurred to me that if I suicided the rear doors I could gain a bunch more access and possibly even lower that b-pillar stump a bit lower. It would be nice if I could make them removable too.

Links and tips on how-to would be appreciated.
Slick idea. Do it, please.

Thats why we need to mythbuster this. See what doesnt open on different Cherokees while flexed. I am sure it will not always be the hatch. My rear door actually opens easier while the Jeep is flexed. hehehe

It may have to do something with the difference in the 84-96 and 97-01 now that i think about it.. Fiberglass will bend and flex alot easier than the steel will, maybe thats the answer right derr.

no need, my hatch is the same way..get her flexed out and it will open (with some rub) but then it just wont shut no matter how damn hard you slam it.

my hatched opens. when i try to close it, it doesnt line up. if i slam it, it lines itself up sometimes..... my old jeep did it too. AND, my rear doors both were hell to open. but if I flexed, the one that was downhill opened very nice. obviously it had it's weight helping but it definitely opened easier. I think my unibody was slightly bent...
