taking off the doors, tips?
Okay so I'm waiting for the weather to agree with me and I'm planning on taking the doors off my 99 xj, does anyone have any tips or suggestions with it? How about the speakers?

Tip? Run a quick advanced search. I did titles only, and searched for "doorless" came up with LOTS of info.

Cut the hinges also. Don't bother swaping the torx for regular bolts...search the hinge cuts and do that..so much easier. Honestly if you have all power options id reconsider doorless...its a total pain to disconnect windows locks and even speakers. I did the hinge cut earlier this year haven't taken my doors of since due to the headache of pulling em off

they've beat that problem with quick connectors that plug together as you open and close the door. I don't remember right off hand but its in the search pages

There should be discos there in the first place. They should be behind the kick panel.
As for the hinges, its not that bad at all. I'm doorless without a single issue, I love it. And I did remove the hinges, and I did replace the garbage torx bolts. I just marked where the hinge was so it went right back where it was.
Removing/reinstalling the doors takes me literally a minute, and I've got heavier doors, I'm a 2 door.
Also, the OP has a 99, he shouldn't need to cut the hinge. He has the 2nd gen hinges, not the early gen hinge.

The only time my doors are on my trail rig is when it's in storage to keep the critters out.
