Default things not to say to xj owner

I'm on several diesel forums, but this is my first gasser forum. I learned that it is taboo to talk about an xj not being a safe DD at highway speeds. It opens a big can of worms.

I recall that thread. People were comparing a solid axle SUV to a modern sedan. Kind of silly.

I've not been on here for a while, but a guy I was serving at work the other day asked why I hadn't been down to our rowing club in a while.
I told him it was because it's quite far to drive so gets a bit expensive when I'm a student.

He responded with "Well you don't have to have such a thirsty car", before pointing over at his hideous Smart Fortwo.

Safe to say I was not too impressed by this.

1. You drive a Grandma car
2. Why does your jeep have reflectors on the side.
Number 2 i argued with a buddy for over a week about it that it was my turn signal and even showed him it blinked and said Id pull the housing off to show the bulb and he still says its a reflector I think he's just dumb.

Don't know if Larry has gotten stupid comments about his XJ, but it izzes him off that he gets more compliments on his Jeep than his 06 Silverado SS.

Got lots of compliments last winter when we were shoveling snow at Chrysler HQ.

Why for? I haven't even driven my XJ in nearly a year and I'm much more proud of it than my '04 Sierra

Because the SS cost about 5x as much, and is real nice.

They're fast as hell for a truck too. LQ9's are great motors.
