At the parts counter all the time I get: "Is that a Grand Cherokee or the little one?"
My best answer (since my XJ is a '92): Well if you can find anything for a 1992 Grand Cherokee I'll take it.
Yeah, the parts guys can be that dumb ... but sometimes they still don't get it.

"You should sell that and get...*insert small car here*"
"Your jeep is leaking in front of my house. You need to park it somewhere else." - (some guy told me that when i parked on the street between his house and my friends. I then drove up the 'decorative rock' he had in his front yard and left it there for 4 hours )
"How come everything is broken on your jeep?"
"Nice car." - (IT'S A JEEP. NOT A CAR, VAN OR WAGON.)
"I bet my *ricer mobile* is faster than your jeep."

A guy out at work call mine a Hummer. I said "If I wanted a hummer, I would see your old lady". He had a fit, but everyone else thought it was funny. They also thought he started it.

How much fuel does that thing burn?
Why would you put your money into a cherokee, when you could build a nice wrangler for the same.
Do the doors come off?
That thing needs a bath.
Why are your headlights so dull.
This thing rode better when it was stock.
Do you know how fast you were going? (I honestly have no idea officer)
Oh and the parts coiunter Grand Cherokee mixup.

i understand the mix up working at a napa you see alot of well being polite "unknowing" customers ive had people ask for parts for 02+ cherokee's obviously they are talking about grands but I have asked customers whether it was a grand for prior years cause it always comes back being your fault for selling them the wrong parts for the "wrong" jeep they told you

Ha! I got this same one the other day from some old guy. My Jeep is lifted 8" with 35" tires, tube bumpers, rock sliders, a winch, wheeling club stickers all over it, plenty of war wounds, and of course a 4x4 emblem painted bright red. I just laughed and said "are you serious?"
