Think the wife going to kill me :)
As most of you that hang out in chat have probably already read, I bought a lifted '88 XJ Waggy Saturday that was supposed to be a parts truck but turned out to have no issues other than a broke tooth in the rearend.... So I start looking for a new rear end today and what do I find A '89 XJ limited with a 3 inch lift and slipping Transmission (otherwise in good shape) for $475. All leather interior, sunroof, roofrack, etc.... Couldn't resist the urge to pop on it, so I run to the bank and pull out the cash for it Fixing to carry it to the house. I'll get some pics up a little later today if I'm able.... Just had to share and wanted someone to know what was going on in case I turned up missing after my homecoming
I'm blaming it all on this forum!! You guys are bad influences

Well I just got it home. It was in the back of a car lot where the lot owner had took the tires and rims off for his hunting xj. They had put some donuts on it for rollers but they were bad so I had to round up some tires and wheels. Turned out the idiots had forced 2 ford spares on They are seized on the back. Managed to pull it home on the rims though I'll put a sledge to them tomorrow and throw some decent tires and wheels on it. Paints rough but the body and interior are good! Not sure about the motor yet but it's supposed to have been good about a year ago when it was last cranked.... Promised pics will have to wait till I have some light tomorrow.

Your lucky,
around here you can't cheap used cars anymore. I think the Cash 4 Clunkers Chickens are coming home to roost and used cars in general are low in supply and everyone has jacked the price of "their" used cars up too.
So I've about gave up scoring another cheap XJ that hasn't been totalled or something.

Thanks for the support guys! She was cool with it I'd managed to save up $2000 for the lift and tires I was going to install on the '93.... Instead I spent $1000 on 2 lifted jeeps and 2 sets of wheels with 33's. Now I still have my 93 fairly stock (2in bb and 31's) as my DD and have these other 2 I can combine and turn into a nice trail rig... At least that's the plan.
Our digital camera got wet and quit on a surfing trip about 2 months ago and she's been after me for a new one. So today I'm going out and buying her a new camera to make her happy She doesn't need to know that I'm really getting it to be able to document and post better pics of the build
BTW- She's a Jeeper as well and that helps! The '99 is her baby and she loves that XJ.

Well today I managed to get the 2 donut spares that where seized on beat off with a little help from a BFH. Put some 33's on it and pressure washed most of the film off it. Waxed a little section of the door and it looks like she'll clean up ok. Put in a new battery and some gas and tried to crank her up... No luck, started looking around and found the coil wire was loose so I swapped that out but still no start. Pulled the fuel line from the pump and have no fuel being delivered so I guess the pumps bad. I did spray her with some starting fluid though and kept her going that way for about 30 seconds or so and it sounded good
Snapped a few quick pics...
