Thoughts about WJ's?
What's your thoughts on the WJ's?
I love my 89 XJ and all, but really need something that fits a family of 5 a little better. And being that I still have "Tiny" to build I'll still have a XJ.
But I'm looking into trying to trade my lifted XJ stock WJ.
Thoughts?

My BIL had a WJ.. and my wife and daughters really liked it when compared to the wifes XJ. I drove it a few times and it sure was comfy.
One thing i notice Nick is there seems to be a problem with the 4.7's at times. Plenty of times i'll see a WJ on Craigslist with one blown, i have no idea if it's owner neglect though.
Maybe do some lurking over at www.wjjeeps.com

i LOVE my WJ...you cant get something with a better ride that has 2 solid axles...ive taken it on a couple 1200 mile round trips and loved it...very quite and smooth...just set the cruise, and even tho ive got the flow master, once it gets into its top over drive its very quiet...i actually averaged 21 MPG each way with the 4.7 V-8..
i have no complaints about it...mine has the optional 5 spd auto tranny with the Quadradrive T-case...
besides having to change the water pump at 65k miles i have no complaints about it at all

See I'd be doing a long arm, lockers and 35's if I get one.
Still not sure yet cause I'm so close to having the XJ where I want it..
It's a toss up..

My buddy had a dubjay on 33s with a d44a rear trussed and locked. It was pretty damn sweet.
P.S. whatever happened to the cherokee with the v10 swap?

We bought our '04 WJ SE w/ the 4.7 and Quadra-TracII system brand new and it now has over 87,000 miles on it. The only problem was with the front brakes in the beginning that was taken care of under warranty. Never a single Engine problem whatsoever. We've taken several trips in it and it's great. The factory tow package will pull up to 5,000 lbs. Heated leather is nice on cold mornings. Sunroof's never been open. We love it. Doesn't quite have the torque of my '97 ZJ's 5.2 but gets better mileage and rides much better.
WJ's are great IMO.

WJ's are great. We have a 04 wj with the 4.7. Its the same engine we have in our 02 dodge ram 1500. It has tons of power. We also have it lifted 3in with 31's and it wheels great. Only caution is some models may have an aluminum alloy rear d44. Dont know much about it but you can only get one kind of locker.
Overall its nice. Alot of room, lots of power, still has great capabilities, and rides like a dream. I say go for it

The D44a don't bother me I'd swap either Waggy D44's in or a HPD44 and 9" combo...
Right now it's all thought..

my girlfriend is wanting to get a WJ in august. how do they handle? i've always heard that YJ's and TJ's arent very good chick mobiles because of how they handle. i dont want her to get something thats going to not handle decent because she's only had her license for 8 months and the only car she's had is a 97 nissan altima.
