Default Thoughts on used tire price

So I just noticed an xj out by the local body shop. Parked where they put all the totaled vehicles. I check it out daily in hopes of seeing an xj. It's sitting on 33-12.5-15 Goodyear mtr's and some soft 8 looking wheels. Wheels are still very glossy and tires fairly new. Also the coils, leafs and shocks are all fairly new looking. Need to wait til Monday now to find out about it but usually the garage ends up with the title to all the totaled vehicles. But if the xj owner is anything like me he would strip it and use the parts on the next. Lol.
So I'm planning on making an offer on said parts and I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on a fair price. I don't really have much extra money and it will take some convincing of my wife before I could spend too much but boy do I hate letting stuff like that get away. Sucks because I used to make enough money where I could impulse spend like $1000 -$1500 every other month or so, but now I can't really do that. I know new the tires are right around $1000 for 4. Wheels are $50-$75 each probably.

I'd say offer a grand. That's not bad if they're in good shape and used.
I just sold 32x15.5x15's GY mtr Kevlars that were near perfect (still had the ***** on them) with a NEW trail cutter spare mounted on a steel wheel for $650.
All 4 mounted on wheels should be a fair price at a grand. Go for it.

Thanks for the replies. The tires look too good to be 6 years old but won't hurt to check anyway. One of my jeeps came with 33-12.5 mtr's but they look to have been run with poor alignment and/or worn steering parts plus a lot of trail rash and they are worn past most of the siping. And they're only eight inch wide wheels. I picked up a 5th on a never used wheel and the tire was only gently used for $100. It was a spare mounted to a wrangler tire carrier since the wheel was new. Also that one was on a 10" wide wheel. So it doesn't exactly match the other four I have.

$1000 might be alright For the wheels/tires and the suspension. Lower arms may have been tubular also. I know the UCA were stock and the steering components all stock also. My leafs are almost back bending and the rear lift is blocks and shackles. Also my front I have like 3" spacers over the lift coils. The totaled jeep leafs are smiling hard and coils aren't even chipped yet. No blocks anywhere. The shocks aren't even rusty or chipped.
As a side note I didn't Install the lift. I bought it that way and am in the process of correcting the few things that were done wrong/not to my liking. Also $1000 is more than half of what I paid for the xj in the first place. Guess I'll have to throw my quad up on Craigslist, only way to justify it. Turn something I have sitting around into something else I have sitting around but will be more practical.

Keep in mind, the age for tires includes shelf time. A new set can be over the age limit.

So latest news. Family is giving garage the title and $500 wich is toward towing and storage fees. Sounds like they owed a little bit. Garage told them they can take whatever they want off it. Left my number for them. Was tipped that they paid $1200 for tires rims and mounting and balancing and they are probably going to want top dollar for them. If I can't make a deal I'll pass on them and hopefully they will leave the suspension on it and I can buy that stuff cheap from the garage. Don't really need tires and wheels but I figured if I can get them at a better deal than new ones y not. I kinda need suspension. Lol
