Tires, Tires, Tires...
I'm going to be running a 3" lift, so I already know that 31x10.50's are the size, but I wanted to get some opinions for which tire to go with. I'll be doing mild wheeling(mud holes every know and then) but mostly on road driving(sad sad, I know, it's a Jeep, but it's my DD and all expenses are being paid for by me, lol). As of right now, I'm leaning towards the BFG A/T. Any help/suggestions/opinions would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
thanks

BFG A/T's are great tires when it comes to snow, sand, and dirt but they really gum up in mud. If your going to be going through a lot of mud I wouldn't go with the BFG's. They last forever on the road though, you should get at least 50k-60k miles out of them.

ok thanks for that, and not really a lot of mud, mainly road. Even though I'm paying for most of the upgrades, my parents still want me to keep it stock.... not! haha thanks again

I don't like BFGs for snow, sand, or mud... They are great on any hard pack, just not in anything loose. I liked them for years but as I purchased better tires and wheeled with friends with those tires I really saw the downfall of the tire design. Also if you like the BFG ATs you should buy the general grabbers cause they are cheaper knockoffs. I'm a big fan of the duratracs I put on my XJ for an AT based tread design. Just my 2 cents worth

okay, thanks for your 2 cents! that's good to know before I go spend 800-1000$ on tires that wouldn't perform how I want them too, that's what this site is for haha. thanks again man

This topic fits me perfectly. Bout to do a 3" RC lift and throw on 31s. My buddy works at Discount Tire and I was asking him about certain tires they sell. He said the Falken Wild Peaks and Rocky Mountains are loud on the road and he sees them come back often with defects. He said there's no tire more solid than the BFG AT KO. Sucks because I really wasn't wanting to spend $170 per tire, plus mounting and taxes for an on-road tire -___-

I have had my duratrac's for about a year.
Love them to death.
Here in Wv, lots of mud and wilderness to cross.
And white winters lol
I can't remember the last time I got stuck (though it might just be a jeep thing)
they are G.Y.'s first hybrid tire, I think the R&D team did an awesome job almost ridding the road noise usually associated with thick lug tires.
Only "complaint" I can come up with is that the sidewall ply is criticized by folks who rock crawl alot. BUT...this is a RADIAL tire...that speaks volumes for G.Y.
