Total loss
Hi fellow Cherokee owners,
I've been a fan of this website for the last two years, and have worked hard to fix all sorts of issues to make my 11 year old XJ into a really nice daily driver and occasional trail rig. I really appreciate all of the good advice and help you all have provided-- you have a fantastic forum. On Friday night my burgundy 2000 XJ met up with a cement bridge abutment, and that was the end. :-( I found out today that it was a total loss--not a big surprise because the unibody was bent out of shape from the front-end collision and all sorts of things were really messed up. The XJ did its job well right to the end, protecting my family from major injuries. I couldn't ask for more than that. Anyway, I'll check back here every once in a while for old time's sake. I don't know if another XJ is in my future, not as a daily driver at least. Jeepy needed too many repairs for a guy without a garage and a good set of tools (meaning I had to pay someone else a lot of money a lot of times to fix things!). Maybe someday I'll get one as a fun second vehicle that I can work on myself. Good luck to all of you and many thanks for your help!
Best,
LFH

That's sad man, it's obvious your really gonna miss it. But as previously stated, I'm glad you and your family are ok. Good luck with your next vehicle!

Good to hear your ok, sucks about the Jeep though. But at least she kept you safe, couldn't ask for anything more. She's wheeling the in the big Moab in the sky now...

Airbags deployed, steering wheel now spins in place with no connection to the front wheels. Container of pinto beans from the grocery store exploded, so everywhere you look are dried beans, and they fall out when you open any door or the back hatch! We are still finding beans in our personal stuff that was in the car! Ha ha.
Glad everyone walked away, sounds like you got lucky.
