Don't really know why. I like them. I've been looking at getting a truck for a while now, and that's one of the ones on my list.

97 is when ford changed the body style and other things. 92-96 are cooler lol.

Superduty trucks were the same OBS style through '97, hence 92-97.

Well I have driven both Dodges and Chevys loaded to the brim and I much prefer the Dodge to the Chevy in both ride and power while towing. I know my vote'll probably be cast aside for not following the towing cap, etc, but here's my SWB 1/2 ton towing a similarly weighted Camaro [~3300 lbs] loaded with car parts on trailer with motorcycles loaded in the back. No trailer brakes, towed like this from Texas to Colorado and back several times [i.e. mountains involved]. The ONLY trouble it ever gave me was the auto trans. the 46RE/RH are admittedly crap transmissions unless they have a huge trans cooler hooked to them. The NV3500 and 4500s are decent transmissions. Things to note: used 2nd gen Ram the dash WILL be cracked. I have never seen one without a cracked dash [except mine which I replaced]

I can't speak first hand about the Ford trucks. Only second hand experiences through friends or family members, so I won't even go there.

A 94 ram 5.2 4x4 5 speed can pull 4800lbs legally,A 94 f150 inline 6 5 speed 2wd can pull 7500lbs.If you go over what you can legally tow if you wreck or D.O.T. pulls you over its gonna cost you. Most states its 20 cents for a pound over and they will make you drop the trailer and come back with a bigger truck.

I never know that I'm pulling a trailer unless I'm in the mountains then I take it out of overdrive. When we go for more than a day or so we take the Motor Home and load the Polaris Razor in front of the jeep (this is an older pic of the jeep)

It depends on the gearing. Looking up for my year [a 2000] the max trailer weight is 5150 with the 3.92 rear end, 4650 with 3.55 [the more popular ratio].

Not sure where you pulled your towing cap on the F150. Looks like trailer weight for the I6 with manual is anywhere from 1600 to 3300 lbs depending on the gear ratio. Autos are a bit higher going from 4300 to 5300 lbs. Were you listing the GCVW?

Don't think you can get driveable superduty for less than $3k. If so, I'm in.

I picked up a 7.3L F350 crew cab dually for $1800 last year. Running, driving, and ready to work. The guy I got it from bought a new truck and wanted it out of his driveway for the snow. So yes, it can happen.

I don't like Ferds, but I'm jelly. I want an old boxy dually like that. My dad has a primer grey 80s GMC crew cab dually with all the bells and whistles.

A car hauler is another option for towing. Prices are all over the place depending on who did the conversion, deck style, and body style/year/powertrain of the vehicle.

You'd probably like this one. It's an '84 C30 with a 454. I bought it from the original owners wife. The cap and running boards are no longer on it. It's a really neat old truck. I've owned numerous Fords, a few GMs, and one Dodge truck. Dammit, I'll talk trucks all day long if you let me.

I've pretty much decided, the wife said she will dive her car to any events i choose to goto or just trailing that way if were camping ect. WE save on gas and she can go do her thing when I'm out. So I'm looking at a 73-96 single cab dually since that's also an all time fav vehicle, question is go with a gasser or diesel since most those cone with a 454

If your talking gm truck get a 454 the 6.2 diesel is kinda slow.If your talking ford then get a diesel.

I flat my XJ behind motorhome. Wouldn't mind a flatbed trailer but no where to store it. Motorhome was more than 3k but I always have a bathroom handy and cold beer handy LOL.
