If it's an AW4 then (IIRC) you could only get it outta a 93. I don't even think they have the AX15 either though. But I've been wrong before lol.
Personally I would look into getting one out of an XJ provided we are talking about an XJ lol.

Could be the 2/3 accumulator and or spring.
Direct clutch seals, clutch plates.
IF its just the accumulator you can do it without removing the tranny.
IF its slipping between 2-3( or going into third) Then it very well could be the accumulator.
Its cheap, just get a new piston and spring. Drop the pan and the valve body. And you can access it.
IF its slipping while in the gears 2 and 3 then most likely its internal.

Its cheap to rebuild it yourself. But if you don't get it together right, its a lot of word to do over.
I am not a master by any means. I have rebuilt about a dozen or so.
If its slipping when you start out also it most likely will need taken apart and rebuilt.
If you can get a good used one for cheap, it may be easier to just buy one.
If you have time and not much funds, you might attempt doing it yourself.

They are really not hard to do. But its critical like I said to get it together right.
IF you do it yourself, first thing is buy a manual for that transmission.
Have an area set aside specifically for the work. There are a LOT of parts in that small tranny.
Don't take anything apart until you read the manual.
You will need a complete gasket and seal kit for certain.
After dissasembly you will know exactly what you will need.
Its not rocket science by any means. But the first one will take you a while.
