I think im going to rebuild it myself ive always been one for a challenge,i looked at the rebuild kit,it doesent look like it would be that hard, while im at it now would be a good time to put the RV cam in it and 3'' lift kit i planned on doing in early spring.

Today just for the heck of it i thought id drive my jeep one more time, and i drove it and it was shifting fine until i put it into 1st gear manually than to 2nd and so on but thats when it stops going into 2nd or 3rd before i did that it was shifting really good,do you think its possible that it has something to do with shifter or cable cause awhile back i had my console off and when i put it back on it wouldent go all the way forward into park so i had to take it off apperently i dident have it on right but thinking back thats when all my problems started with my tranny could i have done something to the cable

sure. Definitely it is possible.
It may not be set right. or possibly inbetween gears. I would double check all that first. Also where it hooks up to the transmission and make sure everything is adjusted properly.
