Discount Tire Co. Will patch a tire for free here, regardless of whether it's their tire or not.

Pops approves of those tires, so come february or so I'll have a new set of tires....just in time for our major snowy season

I ran a set of these on my old xj. I had a chunk of tread come off a tire after 30 miles. I called the company and they sent me two tires because one looked as if it may do the same thing. The jeep sat for two weeks while I waited for them to ship it as they didn't have one in stock. they last about 30k miles and they were worn down too far to drive safely. I would not use them on a DD but I would but them on a dedicated trail rig. FYI they are a tad taller than an OE tire of same size. a 30x9.5 is about as tall as an OE 31.

30k miles should be able to hold me over for a few years. I'm about due for a new set on my dd. I'm still not 100% sold on these. Anyone else have previous experience with treadwright?

I had the same thing happen to my Pepboys mud terrains (futura MT's) about 4 years ago. Big huge chunks (a whole lug!) ripped right off. They replaced all four under warranty. I think that can happen to any tire actually.

There's not many people on this board with these tires but i've seen numerous threads over on JF and naxja about them. 95% of them are positive. I will run these tires without a doubt. I'm just skeptical about order tires online and having them delivered to my doorsteps cuz i live in an apartment and they can be stolen if delivered while i'm at work or sleeping.

Could order them to a friend's house (that you really trust and who has a residential address. But I've been to yota, LR, explorer forums as well as two different product review sites.
From what I've read, they'll last about 30k miles if you take care of them and will do anything a new tire will do. Siping does void the warranty though.

I do some work for the local FBO at the airport, and order everything sent to them. Shipping is usually cheaper if it's sent to a business address, as well.

I can get 4 Baja Claws for $400 w/ 300 miles on them. Or I can get some retreads (31x10.5)

They will be going on my DD, what do you guys think I should go with?

If snow isn't an issue get the 'claws. I have no experience with them in snow but they don't look like they'd be good on MI winter roads.

That's my impression of them. I think they would slide sideways alot. I have no experience with them but looks that way. I dunno why but i rarely ever see these tires on rigs anymore. Very rare.....

Yeah I'm in Illinois so the snow thing might be an issue. I'll do some research.

Now that I've gotten to drive a vehicle about the same weight as mine with a/t tires on it, I'm sold.
