Hinge is totally different. dor me I would need a 7/16 hinge pin too... I'm assuming you yould be able to do something like this @ little to no extra cost?

I'd pay no more than 200 with shipping. No mirrios but an optional place to mount one would be nice. even if it's just a piece of flat steel with a hole.

More than likely I'll build all the doors for the same price. Here is what I'm thinking.

- $150 per front set (2dr/4dr 96down/97up doesn't matter)
- mirror mounts included standard
- cup-holder option on both doors (+$10) pending fitment test
- all doors come bare metal
- rear doors will also be available eventually.

I'd like to do the netting or pockets I mentioned before but it'd take quite a bit of time and I'm worried about quality control too. Oh, the cup holders will be easily removable also.

Do you guys think $275 for all 4 doors is a good price?

definitely reasonable. Most custom doors I see are that for 2 and have who knows what kind of latch. if you can get these marketed well I'm sure you'll sell a good amount of them.

you should do expanded metal mesh as an option too. the whole point is to get a breeze isn't it?

if you were closer I'd definitely offer up my 98 as a guinneypig.

Not correct. From what I understand, the newer XJ's are more of a pain in the butt to work with..

Take a look at the doorless with lift out mod that's in the XJ writups section. If the Doors were done like his with the pin welded through and all we had to do was drill out the body side of the hings it would be just as simple.

If you did it like this then it would work exactly the same as the <96 jeeps but it would need a different, larger pin.

Well good news, flagged down a 97+ XJ (on the highway) and talked to the guy and he is willing to let me test fit a set of doors on his rig. So after the 96- set is made I can build a set for the 97+ guys.

Late production 96. Ok I'll change my statement. It's cause ours do bot have exposed hinges on the roof for the tailgate.

That would suck. It's hard enough as it is cleaning the mud off the roof.

What's the actual eta for these shipping?
