User names explained
I joined this forum just a few months ago. There are a couple screen names that really have me scratching my head. On another forum I frequent there is a thread like this. If you guys already have a thread like this, please someone drop the link in this thread.
I'll go first. bad_idea. I am a member of Garage Journal. Great forum with lots of information on organizing and working out of a home garage. Lots of knowledge on fabrication and tools. Also lots of safety ***** on that forum. Lot of people crying 'You can't do that!' Seems most anything I suggested on that forum was said to be a bad idea. There ya go.

Safety is so over rated, how else are we going to let nature take it's course?
I have a 55 ****** 1 ton truck, owned 20 years now
DieselBombers and YesterdaysTractors are two sites I visit often, been a member on at least 30 forums ever since the internet learned to fly.

Mines pretty easy as well. Pacific North West jeeper. If I'd have joined now it probably would have been something like turdwrangler, in relation to my job at Roto Rooter.

Couldn't think of anything clever for aim instant message (anyone else remember aim!) and so I just kept it going for forums and such.

Mine is kind of a oxyy moron. It started in 9th grade (1988 for those keeping score). My English teacher, also the wrestling coach, started calling me Big Dave. He was about 5 foot tall & 180 lbs. I was more than a foot taller but weighed 90 lbs. A lifelong buddy started calling me Big Dave.
Later, my father in law always called me "big guy". Hence the name.
Out of the blue a guy at work calls me Big Dave too. I guess it suits me.
I'm 220 lbs. now, I grew into the name. Having kids killed my figure.

Mine is a nickname I got in high school. We had a dress up day for homecoming week and I thought it would be funny to wear nothing but denim and my middle name is Dean, so my friends started calling me Denim Dean.

For the vast majority of problems I encounter for the first time, I solve them quickly and in the most obvious way given the resources I have access to and also am not too lazy to use. Usually works, rarely looks good.
Seemed like a fitting forum name.
