I had a 2000 TJ with a 4cyl, lifted and locked at the time. I bought the XJ for $1300 knowing it needed some work.
Brought the XJ home on my trailer and my wife asked me "what in the heck are you going to do with this"? I said "I'm going to build it and then I'm going to punish it"! The name Punisher came in to play after that!
Sold the XJ and in the process of looking around for another project to start on once I get my 99 SD where I want it!

Got my nickname when i got my first jeep, two door 5 speed with the posi in the rear. had no floorboards and the tires were bald. i dropped 400$ on the jeep my entire check from detasseling. Only advice my dad had on learning to drive it was to start it up and figure it out. took me about 3 miles before i got the hang of it (94 xj didnt have a tach only speedometer so i learned to shift by the sound of the motor no different than the motorcycles i have been riding all my life). but the nickname comes into play from when me and some pals went out to have a little fun in it in town. our town has mostly dirt roads and they have some pretty perfect turns for getting sideways. i spent about 20 minutes drifting through town until i saw those red and blue lights. Officer walked up and asked me what i was doing hooning around at that time of night gave me a warning and let me on my way. So they called me cherokee hoonigan.

Too long to type out again. Last part of my old Dodge Darts last name. Shooting Star (from Speed Racer's Racer X) and first name from the racing class they stuck it in (Outlaw Class). Ironically I later found out it's the name of a tv show.

I always wondered if you named your Jeep after the grappler ship in the show. I thought you did, but then you didn't really seem like the anime type.
Not only was Outlaw Star a great show in its own right, it was also the inspiration for Joss Whedon's Firefly and Serenity. For anybody who is a fan of Firefly, it's fun to watch the anime and see all the things Whedon ripped off--er, I mean paid homage to.

I only wish I'm 6'4" now due to crushed vertebra in my back used to be just over 6'5" and 340# (still).
I was a mod on several racing forum's for many yrs. the name then was "Little Red Wagon" on one and another the same except for a 10:52 on the end, my ET at the time with old motor.

I'm a mechanic, specifically I restore rusty old Mustangs for a living. So I'm a wrench-bender, and being a bit twisted is one of the nicer things I've been accused of, so...
