Vent Shades/Visors
Just wondering who all on here has vent shades on their XJ.. Noticed they had a set at the local advance and was thinking on buying a set. Are they nice or a pain in the **** on a XJ? I got a set on my S10 inwhich i like, but being a jeep with a square window, mine doesnt have vent windows like some ive seen so thought id ask...

ohhh... I had some on my 01 intrepid, came that way from the dealer (used) Kinda handy to have if it was hot and raining and you didnt want to use the a/c or whatever. Not sure how they would look on an xj though.

Yea vent shades, i tryed changing the title of the subject so everyone would understand but for some reason it didnt work. Yea they are nice on my S10, just hadnt ever used em on a window thats square and the only exit being at the very top and flat.

Yea but didnt they go to a 1 piece door window in '97? instead of the window glass and vent window like say '93 has? Some came with vent windows, then some were solid... like mine...

Till you sideswipe a tree on accident and rip it halfway off. then you have to rip it all the way off. If your Jeep is gonna see any trail usage I'd say stay away from them. You could better spend that money on something else.

If you get that close to a tree, I would not be worried about the vent visors. YOu are going to have lots of more expensive damage to the rig. They dont even stick out. You would have to about crush in the door to hit the vent visors.

I have an almost complete set on my XJ but the one on the passenger front got snagged on a tree branch and ripped off and run over. It was not salvageable. I like them since they help keep the Jeep cooler in the South Texas heat.
