See like EDISKRAD EHT isnt understanding me, the quick google search is of a '97 up without vent windows! Yea i know they are nice on door windows like that but how about the door windows like in mine that are square with vent windows is what im asking... And yea if you get close enough to something to break the vent shade youve fock'd up alot more then that!. Ive got a set on my Nissan that came on it when it was bought new back in 85 and its been through some the roughest and tightest trails around here and they are still intact.

I understand you completely, the visors are nice to have, our Chevy Blazer has them and they make a HUGE difference. However, they aren't hard to break and all it takes is one branch to rip one off or otherwise break it, my Jeep is a dd/trail rig and I've broken both the driver's side and passenger side off. The driver's side door is in great condition, and the visor got taken off by a branch. The Passenger side door is all messed up from me driving through small trees and such on my first night out wheelin, ironically the visor survived unscathed. Then about two weeks ago I was out wheeling and a branch broke the visor and left the door unharmed. Its your call, i'm just giving you advice based on my experience

They did go to the one piece window in 97 but I think that the ventvisors fit 84-01 because they follow the door frame and not the window. I put mine on a year ago and dont have the package so i cant verify what it said they fit.

They will fit a 97-up door, however you need to swap out the glass pane that rolls up and down to a pre-97 style

You are correct. The same vent visor will fit 84-01.

It doesn't matter. They are all the same since they follow the door frame.

I'm an idiot, I got this confused with a different thread. You're right the same visor will fit any XJ 84-01 the only difference would be a 2dr or 4dr model

Ok Zach i apologize, i fixed my last post... i breezed through earlier and typed in the wrong person. And also i do see how flemsy the vent shades are now days compared to the ones on my nissan that are 25 years old, so they might be something i stay away from considering the riding we do, im not someone who gets out a tares stuff up but everyone slaps or well gets slaps with a limb every now and then lol. Who knows, i might get a set and never hurt em or go out first time and rip all 4 off lol.

Im not worried about them not fittin a 97 up, what im gettin at is, theres a big diffrence in say flickin your cigarette ashes out the window with it cracked on say a 97 up, cause you can do so down about where the mirror is, where like on mine, its square so its gotta be done along the top. I just wished mine had vent windows, i seen a '95 XJ Country that had em and if i ever convert over to manual windows i will for sure do looking for some doors with vent windows!

Vent Visors: Smoked ABS plastic. Affixed with double-sided tape.

VentShades: METAL. Chrome or Black finish. Attach INSIDE the window track beneath the weatherstrip with clips. Covers only the roll-up glass. Does not cover the wing window (movable or fixed) These will fit up to 97 or 98 with 2piece glass set up. Will NOT work with ONE piece glass.

Below is an early pic of our TWo Cherokees. The WHITE Laredo has a full set of VentShades. Chrome of course

Vent visors and Vent shades are different.

Vent visors

Vent shades

Completely different part numbers when you search for a '93 XJ.
