well i think im officially a Jeep Owner....wait XJ... Wait I got it! JEEP XJ OWNER!
So I bought my 00' XJ on the 5th of this month 152 on the OD, runs awesome The lift was done right, great tires, from everything ive checked so far it doesnt seem like it was abused and its really clean. ive been reading these forums every night since, getting ideas learning the quirks and thinking that " man i havent had any of these happen yet. Well...... now i feel like i might fit in just a little bit.... when i open the drivers door from the outside the latch trips and you cant shut it unless you use the inside handle to reset... has happened a few times now lol gonna check it out this weekend. and if i try to shut off the headlights after i turn the ignition off they stay on. if i put the keys back in and turn them backwards to ACC they go right off.... not complaining in any way i love a vehicle with quirks and i think ive found one that will fufill that enjoyment. Glad i bought what i did and im really liking the look and feel of everyones great forum here. once i start to figure stuff out ill post up and ill start a build thread soon! have a good night all!

Congratulations on your XJ. People will laugh. People will make jokes when your jeep:
Has no heat
Has no air
No radio
No speakers
No horn
No e-brake (dangerous)
No key ignition (start with wires)
A head light out
50% of turn signals don't work
Wired up electric cooling fan
The two front doors are falling off
The inside is beat to hell
&
You shift your auto manually
These are just off my head what is wrong with my 94 jeep XJ but it has 270,000 miles and still going. So let the people with a/c scoff. Let those with stable doors laugh because when they have a car with ac and doors but a blown motor. I'll still be rolling along in my reliable ol jeep (hopefully).

Welcome from tucson. Your headlights are on a timer and will shut off after a minute or two. I have had people tell me a lot that I left my headlights on. I just tell them that they'll go off. Stand there for a minute after you shut them off and see if they go off. If it bothers you, you can shut them off before you shut the jeep off and they will stay off

Haha zj owner budging in here. Heat works AC doesnt in mine. But my xj didnt have either. its a jeep thing for sure. My zj door likes to trip when i open it. replaced the hinges and it still does it so who knows. could be the actual door mechanism. my advice. if its warm out roll doorless. that fixes the AC issue to. ride hard man.
