from the angle i took the pics it looks like it sticks out more than it does. i cut it so the farthest point is in line with the outside edge of the door handles

Anyone know the towing weight limit for a 98 XJ? I read 2000 pounds somewhere and then 5000 pounds somewhere??? It would be in reference to the red one I am looking at getting!

Went 4 wheelin' in 2 wheel drive and finally got all muddy. Then went and picked up a bottle of some scratch/paint repair stuff and attempted to fill in all the bare metal chunks left over from thumping trees, and the occasional rock. Picked me up a brandy new parking/turn signal housing for the front driver side. Looks so purdy now I'm ordering the passenger side parking/turn signal housing and both turn signal housings. Also working on removing the crappy looking red and white pin stripping along the length of the jeep, then it's on to buffing out the whole shebang.

last two days
Tuesday night got the rest of the sanding done and cleaned her up, taped off and started bed lining the hood, heading home last night the bottom fell out and didn’t stop raining until around 11pm. So accomplished absolutely nothing on her, it’s not looking to good weather wise for the next few days… so maybe I can get my ridiculously cheap JY find the other day installed since they have already been painted. $50.00 for all: front Skid, Gas tank Skid, and transfer case skid with hardware in practically perfect shape. As well as new rear wiper arm with an intact sprayer, leather spare tire cover, two new rear speaker covers, rear cargo net, arm rest for the console, 4 wd trim piece for the center console, fuse box door/cover, and all of this was on the counter for pricing and the guy said $50.00 for the skids and have a nice day.
I will be going back to grab the Mopar OEM receiver soon just got to make sure it will fit my 98… it’s on a 95 right now I know there were some changes just didn’t want to chance it and it not fit.
SIGN READS: IF YOU BUY IT AND IT DON’T FIT MAYBE IT WILL FIT THE NEXT ONE YOU BUY!!! NO RETURNS

Same things as everyone else has, or will one day... replaced the left and right struts for the liftgate... so much better. used the Strongarm brand which is on sale for reallllllllly cheap right now on Amazon, so go for it ($31 for both + shipping)
Had to go to Harbor Freight to get a female torx socket though. It used the E8 ...but saw a video that said it used the E6.... Then again, the real live official Jeep Shop Manual has about 20 things wrong that I saw just skimming the photos, so who knows what kind of bailing wire and zip ties these things are put together with from factory to factory
