Default Peep Overhaul

In the long lasting uniframe resurrection of the Peep I am seeing light at the end of the tunnel (rather than thru my floor). Boxed in the rear frame sections last night. Driver side was the worst but did both since it was all apart. Next a coat of underside paint and onto re assembly. Target is to have it back together and running sunday.

i would have moved the stock leaf mounts forward and swapped in ranger/expo leafs. would give enough lift to dump that nasty block and given way more flex.

Not to rain on your parade but how safe will that frame be with all those weld joints?

Drove to work today. Fastened some chain in the cargo area to hold tool bag. Will post pics tomorrow. Was looking at the 4wheeler magazine and was mad I didn't have $6 in my pocket. Gotta go back tomorrow to pick it up

I finished my rear trailer hitch install! wooo finally. Word of advice! make sure you have a second person to help you lift it and hold it. My back is killing me now!
Sits so nice and flush!

In theory the weld is stronger than the base metal depending on the filler. But it depends on the heat that is applied to the area in the work zone. In short wheel it until it breaks, nice restore (Dr. Frankenstein) careful on the Highway amongst the other weaker vehicles.

Tested out the t/c today, doesn't sound like a friggin' siren now. Unfortunately my stick in the can d/s is clicking like a beeatch. Time to convert to a d/c. I'm getting this sneaking suspicion that XJ's are like DSM's....

Haha agreed. If I won the lotto, i'd finish my XJ and buy a couple more XJs and an MJ to mess around with. I got most of my small interior mods from the junkyard. The best part about them is that the people at the junkyard usually let me have them for free!

I pulled a spare motor out of my junker along with the transmission and transfer case, the 4WD and reverse don't work but I figure I can learn from opening it up and looking around. I took it out as one piece and have it on the ground. This is the second motor I ever pulled, big difference from the Honda 1.5 LOL
