Get a haynes manual. They're really handy. About $15.
I tightened my serpentine, still not fixing the rub.

I installed the Aussie Locker in the front D30 of my XJ last night. There are a bazillion write-ups about this installation so I didn't take any pics. It was an easy install. It took me a little longer than I expected because I had to do some adjusting on my homebrew posi lock to make it lock and unlock like it's supposed to. Once I got the front axle to unlock and I did the test drive, I had a rather disappointing realization. The drivers side front wheel, front gears and front driveshaft all spin all the time, now. It's not noisey nor does it vibrate but, I know my fuel mileage will suffer. Once I took it off road to test out the new traction, I got a huge grin and I realized I can live with the new front pieces spinning. I just need to lube and grease everything more often. When all 4 wheels are locked in 4HI or 4LO the frnt and rear lockers unlock just as advertised. They both smooth and quiet. Still very glad I decided to go with Aussie Lockers.

Drove in the snow, and took the 2WD challenge...which is during a snow storm seeing how far you can get going to work in only 2WD. I made it all the way. There was a couple of tricky parts, but I fish-tailed it all the way there...keep in mind, when I'm going to work at like 5:00AM there aren't too many other idiots on the road...just me.

Red Muck....In our 91 XJs we have the disconnect style front axle. Which disconnects the passenger side front wheel from the rest of the front drivetrain. When in 2HI, you're right, the front drive is disconnected from the TC. So, in stock form nothing in the front drive turns in 2HI except the passenger side front wheel and half shaft. On the driver's side the wheel, axle and spider gears, inside the carrier, all turn. The carrier and front drive shaft donnot. Now, when you screw things up by taking out the OEM spider gears and side gears and replace them with a "lunchbox" style locker, the carrier and front drive shaft turn right along with the driver's side front wheel while in 2HI, now. When I select 4HI or 4LO and lock my "homebrew" axle lock, the differential locker works as advertised. The front wheels remain locked together until going around a corner causes a difference in wheel speed. Then the locker unlocks allowing the turn to be made without tire skid.

Finally got around to installing some dash lights. Those LED light strips from walmart are a cheap and effective way to illuminate an instrument panel in which the lights have stopped working.
Alls I had to do was remove a panel or two, remove the adhesive protector on the light strip, apply to the tach and speedometer, reinstall panels and voila! Blue dash lights. Also, totally legal as you are not able to see the "source" of the light.

I took the Cherokee on a easy trail for Moab standards just outside Canyonlands NP. I was alone so I only snapped a few poser pics.
