after having it for 7 months, i finally got around to installing this beautiful thing i grabbed off a GW at the local junkyard.
( btw, ignore the aweful paint job, that was a " ah what the hell, im buying more paint for touch ups anyway " moment. soon as i got the money, thats getting paint over with blue, then taped off and painted the right way so it actually looks sexy. )

despite the terrible time i had trying to drill the holes in a straight line, and getting halfway done only to realize i wasnt wearing safety glasses ( when i got hit in the throat hard by a hot, sharp piece of flying metal ) and a nice little slit on my thumb from the dag nab drill bit, yeah, it turned out pretty smexy.
( yes, i had that tough a time with this minor task. Anya was fighting me every step of the way, lol )

I worked on the never ending door panels some more. When those are done, I'll move onto the STI Shaker cold air intake i've been playing with.

It was raining today, so no progress on the lift....
But I bought some "cheap" metric impact sockets... what a pain to find regular non flex 1/2 drive impact sockets... who the hell uses 3/8 drive impact wrenches anyways?
And I picked up a code reader...
Im out 140 bucks...

i was lucky ( and surprised ) that i didnt break any...i was using my landlords drill and bits. i gotta get around to buying my own set. i wonder what set he has? they're like super strong. i was really pushing hard, and at times using them more as a dremel then a drill, and no breakage at all.

Windsheild wipers stopped working after work today. "Oh god, day 1 and I'm already breaking crap."
Wrong. Get home (thankfully no rain) and using the marvel that is CherokeeForum started checking the 5.5 amp circuit breaker for the wipers. Had a hard time finding it.. because it wasn't there. Instead I found a wire with an inline fuse that someone had jerry rigged instead. Now my question is, why not just get another relay, what's going on that someone had to up the circuit breaker to a 20 amp fuse????

I finally had some time off and did a little maintenance on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee Freedom:
Flushed radiator and added new coolant.
Installed new serpentine belt.
Changed oil and filter.
Installed new battery, Optima redtop.
Installed new tires, yokohama geolandar a t-s 235/70/16
Installed new front brake pad and flushed brake fluid.
Drained and replaced Power steering fuild.
Replaced spark plug.
New air filter.
Greased all suspension points.
And finally washed and cleaned my Jeep.
It was a good day!!

Had crappy heat since I got it. This is my 7th one and I know they will sweat you out. I flushed the heater core and it was plugged with rust and sludge. Decided to flush out the whole block as well.....that was nasty haha. Also bought a set of used Pro Comp wheels and sprayed them with bed liner. They had no center caps with them so I drilled out the rim to accept the factory Jeep steel wheel center caps. Looks pretty good IMO.
