Went through the security checkpoint today and got selected for inspection. Opened my doors and told them I could open the false floor (that I finished two days ago) if they want me to. They said no, it's okay, just go over to the personnel checkpoint. I come back to find my false floor broken open, lock destroyed, and carpet ripped off. I hate the Marines here.

If they damaged the box, I guess we'll have to. It looked so good, too! I'm livid. Anyway, I'm ignoring it until Sunday when I'm off and I can do something about it. At a glance, it looks like I just have to replace the lock and use glue under the carpet this time. It's gonna take more time and money, though, so soon after I finished. I didn't even get a chance to show you!

Removed my old shocks and coils on the front...
Anyone who says you dont need a spring compressor is a douchebag. I had to use a ratchets strap to get them out... pita.
One of the shocks you could see theair and fluid coming out when you compressed it.
Stuck in my new ones just to see... not really in
And I decided to rent a spring compressor... got a crappy one though.
And I painted my new coils...just an extra coat.
Also picked up some new shock bolts...
I think I may actually be able to start a build thread.

Peep jeep today
Checked the oil and drove her home thru the heavy rain and wind. Rolled over another milestone, literally 520000 km. An it just keeps on going, and going, and going.

Maybe you're right. I'll have to cut a new section of carpet for the lid and find a way to hide the hinges, too. It looks good with the hinges and lock matching, but if you could only see the hinges, it would look like shoddy work. I think so, anyway. I'll take a look tomorrow night or, more likely, Sunday. I'm off for the night, though. Another 12-hour tomorrow.
