What did you do to your Cherokee today?
Well found out my thermostat house is warped so it leaks like a siv.. Then put a pa and cb in along with a thing that make animal sounds )) something fun to mess around with and thanks to the thermostat i had I reschedule my mnt trip this weekend

I swore many times at the bright spark who put inverse torx bolts to hold the engine and gear box together and put them in an almost impossible place to get at.

FINALLY replaced the o-rings in the oil filter adapter! Dude, that totally SUCKED! I hope to never have to do that again!
Here it is before I removed it. Look at all that oil and crud. Es no bueno!
Here it is after getting it off the block. As you may or may not know, there is VERY little room to move around. I kept the engine mounts on, but eventually had to remove the oil filter just so I didn't have to deal with the extra weight and mess. I had to make a tool to maximize power to move that T-60 bolt.
The two inner o-rings didn't look bad, but the largest on was flat, hard, and unflexible...kinda like my ex. I thought it was hard getting it off, but it was even WORSE getting it back on! Since it was just me, it was hard holding on to the adapter while trying to feel for the sweet spot so the threads would align. After awhile, I disconnected the negative terminal to the battery that I forgot to do earlier on. That was necessary because you just have to contort yourself into many positions and you can't worry about what not to touch accidentally. Anyway, it must've been a good hour trying to get it back on, but I was finally successful!
Oh, and here's the "tool" I made. I took a piece of electrical conduit and applied direct & forceful pressure onto it until the material conformed to specifications. In other words, I beat the hell out of it with a rock until it bent and I could stick a wrench in there and use it as a cheater bar. The monkeys would be proud.

Spent three hours in the parking lot in 30 degree weather to press in and take out my old axle shaft U-joints after dropping $75 that I didnt have at China Freight....what a PITA. Now have the drivers side all torn apart and will try to get the hub off tomorrow to get the GC axle shaft that was slapped into there. Going to be a fun day tomorrow.

been there... it wasnt easy but i finally found a way to get to them with a swivel end and a million extensions and my buddy to hold it on there so i could apply any torque. whoever decided that was a good idea couldnt engineer his way out of a paper bag.

Getting ready to draw up a cheap covering for my alt for the winter until I can afford, or find at JY, a skid plate.
Also did the plugs on my girls Altima and it took longer finding a 14mm spark plug socket than it took to actually change the out

Tires: only contact with the ground.
Lockers: make both contact points useful.
Both are good, but, IMHO, ya gotta start with the tires. Then add a locker (haha, the other aal!! ) to make all that grip really useful. Bald tires won't do anything, even if locked. My .02!

Also, it's all in how ya wheel; there's that vid on YouTube of the dude on 35's just slowly making his way up the side o the mountain in some deep snow. He is on open diffs, but the point is look at his approach: SLOW and EASY!! Now this isn't always easy in the mud, in fact, kinda the opposite for the mud; ya gotta mash it to keep wheel spin and this puts more stress on everything. So I guess my point is to wheel smart and if your gonna mud then be prepared to break stuff... Not that you can play around in the shallow end, but so can subarus! (not a dis on subies, thats a different thread of mine )
