Installed new fuel filter. Just realized the POS Fram filter I put in just 6 months ago when I replaced my fuel pump, has been leaking.

Keep up the work, Mark. That thing is finally starting to look like an XJ. Try to find a known good strter at the JY in a donor XJ. The starters for the 4.0 are outrageous. $85 at Autozone for a rebuilt 4.0 starter. I could buy 3 high torque Chevy starters for that.

I replaced the transmission mount
it was letting the tranny move around to much
the rubber was so degraded
that the tranny would move about an inch under torque
so if any one needs to do this
you will need
semi level ground
one jack stand to hold up the TC
sockets
13mm for the small bolts holding the mount to the cross member
17mm to un bolt the cross member
18mm to un bolt the mount from the tranny

Just got the call that the dealer replaced my Cat as it was under recall . Now I'm looking for a good muffler that will be quiet enough for my daughter to sleep through.
I also noticed that UPS will be dropping off my Red Line MTL today so I can change out my tranny fluid this evening (if I can get away from the in-laws long enough.
All in all, it has been a good day for the XJ so far.

How rusty were your nuts/studs, I need to replace mine but when I looked under the TC crossmember at the bolt it look like they will be twising off on me and too scary to think about trying to fix a stud if I do. Or does anyone know if the studs on the TC would turn out easily if I did twist a nut off?
I had to drill and tap 1 the rest the studs came out with the nut
its a way better setup any way
