I finally got rid of that ungodly smell coming from under my back seats. The insulation under the carpet was saturated with water so that got torn out. Oh and new fuel filter last friday.

Finally got around to welding on my new lower shock mounts for the rear axle. Cut the old mounts off and used the mounting bolt to fab the new one. Then ground off the remaining metal to clean up the axle tube. Did the welding and shot it with the rattle can. Reinstalled the shocks with the new shock boots.

Got underneath it and found that the TC linkage is pretty much shot. Also found that the front u-joints need replaced.

In a few weeks i will be rebuilding the front diff and the TC.
Its nice having a vehicle that i actually LIKE working on.

I took my XJ for some "junkyard therapy" today.
Thought I'd poke around and see what XJ stuff was around...maybe I'd find something cool for it.
But NOOOOOOO....

The junkyards near me SUCK.
One is a mud-pit with vehicles stacked on top of each other..NO XJ's, one MJ (no shackles) and a couple of Grands..
The other is all neat and orderly, with vehicles sitting on welded rim stands, on concrete..It had 4 XJ's...2 '84's...(one w/ Waggy trim), a '92 and a '94.
I was looking for a cheap pair of stock leaf packs, to use the main leafs as the basis for a bastard pack, and they wanted $50 EACH for them.
Riiiiiiiight. Yeah, That'll happen...

Washed all the salt and grime off of it in 74 degree weather... It's finally getting warmer here in Northern VA...!

Changed the T-case fluid. I have a feeling it had water in it. It was black and seemed very thin.
