If you wanna go that route... Will you please:
Keep your cupholders INSIDE your vehicle!!!!
Get an exhaust system that wasn't pulled off a dead Peterbilt!!!!
Replace your driveshafts before you break those, too!!!!
Stop painting random parts green, Ricer!!!!
Take off that stupid snorkel!!!!
Stop waving that flag!!!!
Alright, I think that's everything people yell at you for
You know I'm kidding, man. I love your XJ!

Soo... I bought this Jeep knowing the A/C didn't work, as well as the CEL being on. I took it to O'reilly's, hooked a scanner up to it and pulled 5 codes. Two of those codes were transmission codes, one of which locked up the torque converter and wouldn't allow the Jeep to shift into overdrive. The others were bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor, radiator fan circuit, and something to do with purge canistor something or another. After searching google a bit and reading forums, I came across a guy that pulled those exact same codes with the exact same problem. Turns out, on the 98 (maybe others) they mis-printed the fuse box diagram in the owners manual indicating that one of the fuse holes should be empty, when in fact it's actually supposed to be filled with a fuse.
Well, that fuse triggers the A/C fan, radiator fan circuit, reverse lights, o2 sensor, as well as other things. I look in my fuse box, sure enough... no fuse there. Pop one of the extra fuses in that was already in the kick panel cover, and voila... A/C now works, fan works, reverse lights work, overdrive works, and after clearing my codes and about 35 miles worth of driving, I still haven't popped the CEL again.
Hell yes for free fixes to MAJOR COST components. I'll take that any day.
