Dropped the 4.11 geared D35 out of my 86 Parts XJ. Single handedly dragged the entire assembly into my backyard(I think ill be paying for it later)
This rear is a mess. Has at least 1 leaky wheel cylinder,1 leaky wheel seal. Both set of brake linings are contaminated and the hardware is tore up bad.
Plan is to replace the defective parts, pull the Aussie locker out of the 3.55 rear in my 90 XJ(Daily Driver),and put it in this 4.11 rear. Then take this 4.11 rear and swap it into my 90 XJ.
Looks like I have some work ahead of me.
Then once thats done,I get to swap the front diffs.

Washed my Jeep...
My '96 Jeep Cherokee XJ is not in mint condition but running strong. My wife has been using since we moved because I needed her yukon for cargo room. I washed it the other night(vacuumed, cleaned the brake dust, armor all the tires etc...) and next day while going in to work she send me a text message that while gassing up she drove it through a car wash... GEE'S... could you see it was already cleaned while driving?

I got my new 99 XJ Maryland inspected today.
Cost me less than 300.00 to get it past inspection. Happy about that.....the Jeep rides even better than it did....they replaced the anti sway bars and stabilizer bushings .....etc....
here's what they recommended to have done further..........
resurface rear drums
engine leaking oil--valve cover gasket leaking...coated dist cap.
Tranny fluifd burnt and discolored....need tranny fluid filter and gasket service.
brake flush
they found the ground cable at rear of engine disconnected near the firewall.
rusty power steering pressure hose
all shocks are original...need replacement. (they feel pretty good to me)
At this point I have to slow down on the spending....so ..
what do you guys recommend I get done first? In what order ?
also what shocks should I get?
Thanks...sometimes I really wish I was a tech....
PS its the 4L with 4x4 and 135K miles. My mechanic told me it was neglected. I'd say so.
