That applies to probably 95%+ of the rigs on this board. Still, it doesn't matter. TOS rules say don't talk about it, so why are we talking about it?

you are wrong. The law is pretty clear cut. the ONLY time a converter may be removed legally is if a vehicle is being shipped overseas
and you would need a letter of approval from the EPA to do that
do some reading

As for cats, removing them WILL NOT!! increase your power. That theory is for older 80s vehicles. The designs and flow rates of a cat have dramatically improved over the years. So I'd suggest a quality replacement or an aftermarket from Performance Curve.

Ok listen guys seriously, cat or catless forum rules say not to even think of discussing this matter. Whatever your feelings on the matter are, keep this up and the mods will step in. This has been a long running thread lets not screw it up now. Just end it and mods please don't end the forum just boot anyone who keeps it up from this point
I have rusty exhaust. Need to replace everything. Gotta '99, so I need my cat to be high flow, but I don't want a loud muffler. Want to fix it up so my exhaust isn't so low.
I discovered all this once I started pulling out my transfer case. I just ordered the SYE kit.
Oh and a 1" drop pitman arm. I love the way my XJ let's me break stuff as I go along...
And replaced my back glass, the rear defrost works now!!!

Ha! Thanks, but that's not my Jeep. Found that pic on the internets and used it as an example of how it could turn out. It doesn't look bad, but done wrong, it could look...well, stupid.
