Default door pin

You know the arm inside the door that keeps the door open? You know what sucks? Losing the pin that keeps that arm attached. Thanks to another post on the forum, though, I put in a simple hitch pin (courtesy of Home Depot) and it works like a charm. The hardest part was coaxing that arm back out, but after talking it over with a big pair of pliers, we worked out our differences.

Default Locked Up

Went and cleaned all the salt of the suspension parts. Its nice today so I decided to finish the locking and safety system for my hi-lift jack.

Drilling holes through hardened steel bolts without a drill press is a pain in the ***, but after about 5 bits breaking I got it.

I'm putting on a hitch I got from the jy. It was a PITA getting the exhaust hanger bolts out!! The nut on the original nut strip farthest forward on the passenger side is slightly bent making it difficult to get the new bolt in. I took a break cuz I'm getting a new radio put in my gf's car. When I get back I think I'm going to have to drill out the unibody under the but a bit. Ugh every little project turns into an operation!!!

OK..this will be long with loads of Pix.
A little background. 2001 XJ, 3" RC lift, 31" tires. Getting my truck ready for a 1100+ miles drive to Florida for vacation next Saturday.
Mission: To go up against the dreaded "Death Wobble".

Started my day at 6am. Drove to the mall parking lot by an automotive store and Seafoamed her. Living in a city I couldn't do this at home because I'm scared to have the fire department called on me. Chilled at a Dunkin Donuts while I waited the Seafoam to do its magic (30* out with wind chill of 15*).

Got home and got my gear ready to tackle the front end. The most important tools that I couldn't have done with out: Name: 2012-03-10-08-38-01-648-1.jpg

Took it driving up to 70mph. Usually i have the "DW" between 50-60mph, NOT ANYMORE!!! I can steer now with one hand with my arm rested on the window sill. No more white knuckling! Also, the steering is tighter and more responsive! I would say a great day today with a lot of accomplishments in 5 hours and doing everything curb side

Now for a beer!

Tomorrow's project: Oil Change, Trans cooler install, rear drum brakes, cowl snorkel

I don't have a elder... But if I did, I'm not sure I could get a head in there to weld it. Oh well not a priority right now.
