Can some one explain sealing? I've got a persistent, but slow leak. I think it's oil, but have yet to find the source. The drip is falling off the oil pan, but it's not coming from the pan itself. It's not causing any problems but is driving me nuts!

Identify the fluid first... If its oil, likely suspects are valve cover gasket, oil pressure sending unit, oil filter adaptor, and rear main seal. Degrease thoroughly and check in that order. You'll find it.

It could also be tranny fluid or power steering fluid, which can resemble oil when dirty. Check the tranny lines and high pressure ps line if it's not oil.

I don't see how it could be a problem, unless you live somewhere with a hoa and it's against the rules, or you park on the grass otherwise there's nothing they can do

It all depends on where you live. In NH (Plaistow, NH specifically) you are allowed one car on your property NOT reg/inspected. Anything over that falls under some sort of "eyesore" law. uninspected = rotted out and ugly in their eyes i guess, idk, probably a way to get you to spend more money reg. ALL the vehicles on your property.

I havent had issues in Dover, NH and we've had my Mustang, 2 VW Bus', 2 VW Beetles, both my trucks, and my moms car and the cops didnt say anything and my trucks and my moms car were the only ones road worthy but also cops never come down my road
