Installed Rock Sliders. Custom made from Down 'N' Dirty garage in Reading PA. 250 bucks for the pair! How can you fault that?!?! Check out my build thread, (linked in my signature) for the full story and the details along with a lot more pictures.

Look good! Question though - looking at your build thread and other pictures, they don't seem to have any attachment to the pinch seam. You definitely need some sort of attachment to that seam to keep the sliders from crushing your body in when you land on them.

There are 12 bolts on either side mounted to the pinch seam. No worries mate, they are attached on there right!
if you reference the fifth picture down on the last post I made on the build thread, you can see them clearly there.

They are hidden pretty well though, if you look at the very last picture on that thread, you can see that unless you looked right at them they would be easy to miss. In addition, I did paint the bolt heads to match as well, so they sorta blend as well

Since I screwed my foot up and can't walk I figured now would be the time to order a new steering box spacer from JCR since I can't work on the heep.

Not necessarily, they can have intermittent failures. Its either a slip ring, or a flexible circuit inside, and they begin to lose contact and crack as they wear. Just make sure if you grab one from a junk yard it hasn't had the airbags deployed, it destroys the clock spring. and don't rotate it from center more than your steering wheel would or you can damage it.
