Stopped at the parts store on the way home from solderjunkie's house and bought a new motor mount. I am tired of hearing the clunk every time I accelerate. Now I have to find the time to install it.

Crushed my exhaust system, scratched up my differential covers (both front and back), dinged up my gas tank skid, tested out my skid rails THOROUGHLY, enjoyed the godliness of a locker, dinged up my rear kicker panels, dinged up both passenger side doors.... and was it worth it? YES!!!

Wheeling is fun, but I think I'm going to make the trips on these trails that are rated at a difficulty of 8 as something to be done few and far between.

Armor, armor armor. At the very least, I recommend a gas tank skid and a Tcase skid. Eventually, you want skid rails and Quick disconnects (and remove that rear swaybar... if your model XJ even has one.) Also, I recommend a locker in back. Lock-rite makes a good full-time locker that I use and it works great.

Order I recommend:
1 - Armor/Tires
2 - Locker
3 - Disconnects
4 - Lift

99% of people learn this the hard way and do it the other way around. Myself included.

Be careful, those lockers give you kind of a god complex...you begin to think no obstacle is too big

Put in a new heavy duty flasher - the new trailer wiring made the turn signals blink too fast.

I cut the ends off of my junkyard S-10 main leaf donor springs to make my bastard pack.

Just gotta love power tools...Bosch die grinder with cut-off wheel, 27,000 rpms...made quite the fireworks show!

Still experimenting with driver's seat to find out main cause of problem.

Swapped original seat equipped with JY rack for JY seat with original rack (this is phase 2):

popping and leaning went away. So now I will have to swap upholstery from tan on JY seat to my original gray on the seat bottoms. Then put original rack back on.

I agree 100 percent.

I just put front and rear Aussies in and finally had it out wheeling yesterday. It's by far one of the best modifications I have done yet.

I would have made it if I had BFG MTs and 4:1.

My friend's almost stock Rubicon is a great example of a god complex.

I group of us went wheeling at The Mounds for the first time this season. Here's a video of Ecksjay navigating an ATV trail:
