Not what I should have done (compression test, oil cap check), as rain interupted things. However, finally pulled the molding off and started to remove the ugly and poorly done pin stripping.

Oh yeah... almost forgot... on my lunch break, I decided to go to the Race Trac and get a couple of cans of NOS (staying up when I get off this morning) and fill up the jeep. Almost half way there and I started hearing some clanking... pulled up to the pump, lifted the hood and saw that my rubber hose running from the radiator to the overflow bottle is loose and laying in the fan causing the clanking... shut the jeep of and surveyed the damage... one of the clips that holds it to the radiator top member is broken and gone so that coupled with the lack of fan shroud made it decide to go pick a fight with the fan and lose.
Grabbed one of the other clips, secured the end nearest the fan, and routed the rest of it through the hood latch point... before doing that, I wrapped it with some rescue tape... something EVERY jeeper should have... stuff works great.
Added a quart of oil 'cause that was low, and while I was at it, I checked the adjustement of the tranny kickdown cable... apparently it was adjusted properly. Slammed the hood and drove it back to work noticeing no change in the way it shifted.
Shifted fine before, but OD doesn't kick in until 42 MPH... I was hoping that would change... guess not.

yeah same here. once under 42 or so, if you fully let off the gas, then get back on it, it should unlock and remain unlocked until 42-45 mph or so. And mine doesnt want to unlock over 43 without kicking down to 3rd.

Looked at it and shed a quiet tear yesterday was the last day I could drive it legally on or off road (stupid local law says must be road registered to use it off road ) worst thing is I didn't even get to go over 100,000 miles. It has 99,972.
