It's not hating it's what it is. I don't care what every owner says. Everyone is partial to what they drive. Probably why they bought it. It's all machismo BS. 2 straight axels. The xj uses the same designed drive system since Willis. They are not hi tech, they just work well. A arms, ifs, all that stuff, not what a jeep is. You can love your Libby, and it could be a great vehicle for ya, stock to stock, the wheeling we do on the west coast, you will not be able to keep up. Seen it many times when we throw events at Ocotillo Wells and truckhaven, (google them) city kids come out with their stock Libby's, and commanders, and fj's..... Thinking they can play too because the emblem on the back says 4x4

I looked and couldn't find a single similarity from a xj to a Willis they were definitely not station wagons... What kind of suspensions do top of the line off-road race trucks run? And about the "city kids" that is literally the stupidest argument possible... You can put a driver with no experience and no knowledge about offroading behind the wheel of a rock buggy and have them not be able to keep up.

Offroad race trucks around here (baja) usually use 4 link rear, and radius arm or long arm fronts. But like you said, race trucks. Haulin rear through the desert 2 wheel drive, not going slow up mts.
I apologize for getting you all bent out of shape talkin bad about a liberty. When I'm wash running, I'd much rather be in my F150, actually 4 wheeling tho, I leave that to a solid axle.

Coil front? Jeep loved 4-leaf designs. XJ was the bastard child when it debuted because it used the new Quadra Link suspension that was later used on TJs due to its success. Technology improves, and things change. When they make IFS stronger, all these arguments we have against it will sound archaic.

On topic, i put my rear side cargo glass back in today after removing it yesterday to get in the jeep when my keychain broke and the keys fell off in the jeep without me knowing when i locked the doors. Glad the XJ is made like it is. Easily removable windows and such.

The parts are RC. 4.5" springs in front, RC shocks, RC extended brake lines, Etc. i just bought the stuff at different times. And yes it was on a homemade ramp back when it had 3.5" lift and 31's. There people go again assuming stuff. Listen man, we are never gonna agree on this.

So if I compare a stock Libby to a 4.5" lifted XJ that is intentionally set up to perform poorly, the Libby will win? Go figure. Can we be done with this now before they close the thread?
