Enjoying the Colorado snow myself! Can't wait for the MEGA snows this year.(hoping at least) Finished my snorkel under the hood this morning at 6:15a.m. Woke up at 4:30 and just wasn't tired and I figured the boss was going to tell me not to come in(because of the snow) so I went and finished her. Crafted of 3" ABS piping and had to homebrew an air tight airbox. No whistling sounds but she is a little slower on the power after 3500rpms(as expected) I'm happy with it and I guess that's all that matters!

Trying to locate a decent price/driving distance for a dual diaphragm XJ booster and whatever other parts to swap in for better brakes.

QUESTION: Can I mix-n-match master cylinders with the dual diaphragm XJ booster?

1) I was thinking of 97+booster with 91 master cylinder until I do the disc brake conversion in the rear.

2) Then what about a 97+booster with ZJ master cylinder AND ZJ proportioning valve. This way the only brake line threads that would have to be changed would be the bottom of the prop valve out to the wheels......??? It is a JEEP so i believe everything can be mixed/hybrid together like legos! But whats going to be most straight forward/practical?

Just looking for ideas, NO FIGHTING/ARGUING!!!

I think i am going to end up cutting them down quite a bit and re-welding them. But we will see how they do.

Just finished up my 784 swap on my 99. Also cleaned the TB and its sensors and their connectors. Painted the fuel rail. I also ground down my cowl intakes hole. Hit with a dremel sanding drum, then 180grit. Its smooth to the touch. Also did the same to the connection piece to the firewall and used rtv to help seal it up. So far it seems to have done away with the annoying whistling and scraping noises it had.

Couldn't do much else because the rain came back.

No finished shots, it started raining and I had to finish and pick it all up quickly.

Went hunting for front end noises expecting to find toast bushings... nope, one of the bolts holding the right caliper on had sheared off right from the bracket. Broke 4 drill bits, dulled 4 more, then today found out what a 'screw extractor' (easy out) is... screwed up one of those pretty good but got it out eventually:

Also I think the axle seal is shot.... lol (this is after some degreaser and a brush/scraper)

On the plus side at least that U-joint is good

Dropped off my new 99 XJ at SIL's. He put 3"lift blocks in rear, and 2" spacers in front.
New front brake pads.
Getting BFG AT KOs 265/75R/16s when he takes it to work at a Jeep dealer on Wed.
Its not much, but a start...All labor FREE...HE OWES ME! LOL.
He loves working on XJs, so Im doing him a favor...
He called today to say the front axles locked up, pulling apart tonight to see what could be wrong, any ideas???
