Put a wolo 419 horn in thanks to another member recommending it.

Quick question, would changing the horn wires from 18-22 gauge wire to 14-16 make it any louder?

Default Miserable day

Installed a USB port in to the blank panel where the clock goes. Before that; last week, I was tearing my door panel off to find out why I can lock the door but cannot unlock it w/ the key. It got late so I threw in the towel and called it a day. So, today, I was going to put it back in and found that the door wouldn't unlock/open without the panel being attached. Later on, I found out that if I insert the key in the door and lock/unlock/lock/unlock/lock/unlock, THEN I can open the door.

Reinstalling the dash, I lost power to the dash..... no lighter/radio/usb. Can't find the source... all the fuses are good. In spite of it all... I broke the dashboard when it hit my fist.

Was going to check the blower resistor block because only the Fan HI works... resistor was good... connector was good. So, I removed the dash bezel and checked the A/C control panel; the switch looked ok but the connector looked a little rough. Cleaned it up real good and plugged it back in... still no LO and MED.

Last week, I put my DIY headlight harness in. Today, I was putting new headlamps in as both originals had condensation in them. When I pulled a headlamp out, my connector fell to pieces. Fixed that. When I was pulling the ground from the battery terminal; the terminal fell in to pieces... picked up a new battery terminal and resolved that issue.

Moving on... I am waiting on my APN header to replace the infamously cracked stock POS. But, I have the Energy Suspension motor mounts to replace the old ones. I was also going to change my oil while having the pass. side motor mount off. Well, motor mounts and oil change never happened. I could break the bolts lose that where mounted to the frame but couldn't, for the life of me, break the bolts going through the mount lose.

I was calling around today to see if anyone has gas can and torch that I could barrow, but no one took me serious enough to the idea of me putting this Jeep up in flames.

I want to burn this thing to the ground now.

Oh yeah... my reverse lights work really good now. I pulled my taillights out last weak and found the source of water getting in to the cargo area... fixed that! As I was checking the bulbs, I found that one bulb was rusted in to the socket so I cut the socket from the wiring harness. It took some time (about 4 hours) but I was finally able to get the bulb out. Today, I reinstalled the socket and spent about 2 hours trying to get the new bulb back in to the socket. It just did not want to go in. But, I finally got it.

Needless to say, today, was a VERY unsuccessful successful day.:b rickwall::brickwa ll:

My door lock was like that. While you have it apart soak the inside mechanism (the latch and lock assembly inside the door) with wd40. Worked on mine.

Started laying down soundproofing. I picked up the butyl sheeting they sell at Home Depot. I was worried about it smelling in the summer, so I did a couple tests with small samples. Heated them up, completely lit them on fire, stuff like that. So now I don't worry about them getting stinky!

I know it's not Dynomat, but it works. I've already noticed a difference, and I'm not done with install.

I put the brush guard back on yesterday and meant to get the spare tire on the roof today, but the rains after work put a damper on that. (See what I did there?) But I was able to sneak out to Fiesta Island for an extended lunch and take some pics of the Jeep. After that, I took her to get smogged. Lo and behold, she passed so incredibly clean, I'm going to have to post it tomorrow. I've NEVER had a vehicle pass so clean in my entire driving life! (Hint: Most of my measured readings were ZERO!) I'm going to hold off on having the plates renewed. I've decided to make a vanity ham callsign (WO4RCA) and, once that gets approved, request for my amateur radio plates. Other than the rains, it was a pretty good day.

P.S. I'm thinking of putting some driving (road) lights on the brush guard to get some light on the road. (Offroad lights will go on top.) Any recommendations for the brush guard lights?

Nice Jeep. I like it and the color....Just.. get rid of the brush guard.

it takes so much away from the front end. LOVE the flat flares. paint the grill and headlight buckets satin black. then she would look SUPER KILLER.
also paint the mirriros satin black.
