Never ever use a chain for recovery its never a good idea they store energy and when they snap back glass and body's get get broke and people get hurt or killed always use a tow strap cause when they snap they just fall to the ground

Also, tow straps (pulling) and ****** straps (getting unstuck) are different. ****** straps have elasticity, able to stretch and then retract for added tugging force.

Tow straps do the same thing. You want a "recovery" strap.

It depends on Wat kinda recovery your doin like if its just a little pull or you need to give a few jerks to help free them

im using a 1.5"ID x 50' long double jacketed fire hose for my recovery issues. never let me down and it stretches. I quit using chains in HS when a friend almost lost his head.

Still wrong, there is also a difference between a tow strap and a recovery strap, never use a tow strap for recovery. You need a recovery strap, like a 2 inch 30000 thousand pound one.
