I got a 15,000# recovery strap from harbor freight on sale for $30. I'm also a firm believer in synthetic winch lines and will make sure mine has one when I can finally afford it.

Frederick watershed. We were just on the aide of the road, and there are ATV trails and fire roads all through the area, but they don't like us leaving the gravel.

No no no. Chain should never be used for recovery and neither should a tow strap. They are only to be used for static loads. A RECOVERY strap and tow strap are two TOTALLY different things.

No problem and also ill let you know never weld on your tow points use bolts cause you can tell when a bolt starts to give but when.a.weld goes it tends to just snap and that can go flying I seen one truck that had the tow hook from another that was welded on stuck it the tailgate
Grade 5 is slightly less bittle yes, but the yield point is still less than a grade 8. The only reason a grade 5 is used instead of a grade 8 is for economy.
X2 I'm tired of hearing "but grade 5 stretches"
