It's called forced induction. You'll be surprised to see how many b16 powered civics have re sleeved blocks that are .40 over and stroked to 2.0l from 1.6l then they are usually adding turbos on them also.
My 95 Miata has a stock engine and it is just as fast as most stock fox body and. 3rd gen fbodies. At the drag strip on a track they can't keep up in he curves.

And 3rd gen F-bodies can be made to handle incredibly well. The balance and steering is already very good from factory, and a slight drop with subframe connectors and a wonderbar takes it a long way.

Heavily detailed the interior. Mostly wiping the dash down and the doors. Been really broke lately so no money for real mods. Been out of work 3 weeks and hoping something comes in soon. Haven't been this clean in a long time.

Over the week I fixed a sway disco', took her through the car wash, drove back home from Delaware and just bought a valve cover gasket and oil filter for a tune up

And the argument does stand...because the built boosted "ricer" (****ing haters on this site I tell ya Tom95YJ) are weighing in at half the weight of the big built v8s.
B16s are nice, I prefer a ls/vtec swap b20 block sleeved bored .30 over high compression pistons, with the b16 head stage 3 cams, chipped and tuned ect. Ect. I could go on but I won't for the sake of these guys but my mild built integra ran with cobras, boosted subies, ect. (Highway pulls) ( I don't even want to talk about road course...that's a Convo over dinner. Cause tuners smash!)
I'm sure I'm about to get hammered on by these guys cause theres a few of them don't like me as is. But so be it!

Weighs less than my 4,300lb Camaro, I can tell you that.
I don't have a problem with imports if that's what you like. I respect a well made vehicle. Some imports are built for drag, and some american muscle does well on road courses or drifting. It comes down to the build and how specialized the vehicle is.

Damn near. My integra, 2000~2200 pounds. Gutted...no power steering, no ac, everything that wasn't needed for auto cross was removed. Plus all the aluminum that replace bulky steel parts...
If I can remember right, from the factory it was 2554.

My mother has a 86 5.0 (70,000 original miles) very fun to drive. But my 4 banger ran it. Lets just say my father, a muscle guy was very surprised. And kept telling me that I was blowing my money and that I might as well grab up some American muscle. But I def showed him it can be done if you do it right.

My other car is an integra. And I can tell you I've never sped up to 90 on the freeway to pass a porsche or ferrari then posted a video of it on youtube while some tool in the passenger seat yells "yeaaahhhh boyeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!"

Flavor Flave!
Bent some metal back into place. Swaybar disco mounts in the wells bent up. Both fenders are a little jacked up. I guess my front bumps are still a little short.
