Passenger side leaf pack replace "project" is complete except for JK shock ...which I might not be able to use: when I went to press the lower metal bushing out of the stock shock, I finally noticed there was no bushing in it ...which goes a long way to explaining why the rubber was totally destroyed, eh.
(And yeah: I'm spending a significant amount of time cleaning as-I-go ...and there really is very little rust.)
I put it back on the ground after the pix (to switch sides in the garage, so I could start the driver side tomorrow), and the height measured exactly one inch over stock at 18 1/2 inches center-to-flares (courtesy of the new Crown HD - aka "upcountry" - #4886186AA leaf packs) ...which was almost 2 1/2 inches from where it started lol. I needed to measure to see what I might need for the front.
I'll order the new coils tonight (Moog CC782, which should put the front in the air an additional 1 inch over stock too) ...and probably new shocks (and so much for my Craigslist "good deal", sigh).

As far as what I was saying ...a pix is worth a 1000 words:
...unless the bushing really isn't on the stock XJ shock? Damn thing is mangled all to hell, and I just kind of assumed somebody pressed a bushing out (the top pin bolted right on btw). Driver side looks the same: totally wasted.
...blows my mind if it really is designed that way lol.
...and yeah, I really didn't think about it not being there until the day after I took it off, and the JK bottom wouldn't slide onto the lower shock mount (and vaguely recalled someone writing that the JK's had to be slightly modded to fit: thought this was part of that).
...and fyi that measurement indicates the JK's are 3 inches or so longer at full extension than the factory shocks (they're about 2 1/2 inches longer when compressed).

What would be the extended length?
No bushing on any I've seen in the rear, did you have a washer for larger surface contact with bushing?

I s'pose I should'a re-read earlier sigh (cuz' I know not to trust my memory). But seeing what happened to the stock shocks, I'm going to add washers/spacers to each side.
Maybe the stock rubber had turned to crap simply because they were 150K old? (Aargh: I could've been totally done with the passenger side.)
Thanks! - You [probably] just saved me $122 (I had 4 new fr/rr Sensa-tracks in an Amazon cart).
As for extended length ...23.25 inches center (hole) to center (of pins) for the rear's. Actually, I made a detailed post on JK shock dimensions, etc., on an old thread at jeepforum, if you're curious.
(At some point when I'm done with this over the next few days, I'm thinking about doing a build thread with my adventures, for benefit of anyone else who's considering a "mini-lift" ...or just back-equipping their dd XJ with the UpCountry "option" ...which isn't what I set out to do, but what it's turned into lol.)
