drove it to go look at the mustang and test drove the stang, WOW. for a 19 year old car, it had no clunks, no rattles besides the exhaust, slight valve knock, and its slow as hell but its a gas getter. i gave him $100 to hold it along with a contract he signed and we agreed on $1050 for the car. only needs some body work, ill do fluid changes when i get it, other than that, saturday ill probably be transfering the title and the car is mine!
heres some quick pics
rust, ugh, salt sucks
and for good measure, the jeep re-herculined and taillights sprayed
and yes that is a legal service road

Well I ordered a few upgrade/maintenance parts.
-Rough Country Hydro Shocks
-Dynomax Cat Back system
-Dystar front extended bump stops
-RE 1 3/4" BB to level out the front end
So late next week/weekend I'll be doing some very badly needed maintenance..

Pulled the molding off in preparation for herculining the rockers tomorrow. So 5 out of the 6 pieces came off easy, used the blister-thumb technique to get the tape off, then 3m adhesive remover to get the last of it off.
The problem came on the 6th piece (driver side back door piece). Apparently it had been off before and remounted, because the tape they used on that piece was different. I couldn't thumb it off...too thick and hard. So I thought I would put the adhesive remover on, let it soak then roll it off. BIG MISTAKE!! The adhesive remover turned the tape into some kind of industrial strength, gooey gorilla glue substance. It is now all over my hands, arms, face....and the side of my rig. Won't come off.....not sure what I'm going to do with it now.

Herculined my rockers and rear quarter. And now I have that crap all on my hands (wore gloves, but apparently they had holes in them..doh!). Oh well, at least it's not on my hootus
Also painted my fender flares. Man I am having trouble deciding on whether to put them back on, or leave them off and trim. I got no clearance issues, and won't for a while (since the wife won't authorize new meats). I'll start a build thread, and maybe I will throw them on, take some pics, then take some without and let you guys decide.

Well yesterday I got conned into pulling a friends jeep out of a stream they got stuck in...after wheeling my way out there and attemping to pull the jeep out I gave up because the jeep was too high centered and i didn't have the weight to pull it out...on the way back I took a bad line and got just as stuck...we had to get a 3/4 ton pick up truck to pull us out and today I had to break down and clean out my axles cuz they were stuck under a muddy stream for over an hour...what a day...pictures coming later

well...some might want to shoot me for this.
im taking my full width axles out and putting the stock ones back in, and also going from 37's back down to 35's. taking 2'' of lift off.
my xj is becoming a pavment princess!!
i have a secret build going on and i dont think i need two rock crawlers....so the xj is getting downsized.
build thread of secret build to come in a few weeks.............stay tuned.
