Here's a side-by-side comparison with the stock coil on the left, the CC782 in the center, and a JK Rubicon coil on the right. The Moog is just hell-a stout.

The combo (Moog CC782 and Crown 4886186AA) supposedly provide the same lift as the factory Upcountry option (I tried to spec coils & leafs to that package) ...and that one inch of lift (fr & rr) was pretty much what I had in mind ...but I'm eventually going to hang a winch on the front too, and figured HD springs would probably help.

The primary consideration was that the original suspension was totally worn out at 150K though, so I figured anything I did had to be an improvement lol.

(As to it being too stiff due to the component mix ...well, I've never been in another Cherokee, so I wouldn't know enough to be bothered lol.)
You would be the coolest guy in the world if you stuck the rubicon coils in there to see how much drop they would give, I'm liking the idea of a slammed xj more and more.

They say "variable rate" I'd say its the same thing.

Got a late start on the jeep last night. We started off with putting the lock right locker in the d30 and while taking off the diff cover I noticed j must have clipped a rock the bottom bolt was screwed up bad. So we got the locker in was maybe a hour to put it in. Just glad we didn't have to pull the carrier. I do have to say that installing a Spartan is was easier than a lock right. After we got that all done I thru on a zone diff guard. And went to work on the sway bar links I added a set of rough country disco's. Sunday it the alignment time.

LOL.

Oddly enough, I was pointing out a Stylin' Trucks catalog to my wife last night, and mentioned that those guys were the exact opposite of Jeep guys ...they seem to focus on dropping their rigs, while Jeepers raise theirs.

...personally, I like the idea of being able to see over the roofs of Austin Sprites myself, woot. But also being able to climb in and out without need of a step-ladder, or fear of injury.

Yes. Moog calls them "variable rate" as per bhennessee1.

...the thing is: with such thicker wire stock, and additional coil wraps, I think it's pretty iffy that these are going to be all that "progressive" over the stock coils lol.

As soon as I opened the box, I figured I was going to pretty much get and keep that inch of lift, even while swinging a winch out on the moment arm. So I'm pretty much expecting 18 1/2 plus inches center-axle-to-flare height when I drop the rig back on its wheels (and if I get 19 inches I'll be very happy about how the whole thing turned out).

The side-by-side pix seems to indicate that will be the case. We'll know later today for sure though lol. I'll do before & after pix later this weekend (and I'll also be measuring lift height via the "dirty" - or factory - method to see exactly how things worked out).

Took the jeep into Ford for an oil change (have some free coupons). I normally run 15w40, so thats what i requested. Ford tech happend to be standing there and pipes up that 15w40 is not to be run in a gas engine, it will eat the bearings and wreck the piston rings causing lost compression. So in short they would only allow me to run 10w30.

What I wont ever buy again are the hydros those SUCK! gas charged shocks are the ticket! i have no more shakes or mini death wabble, in part due to the skyjacker steering stabilizer but these m95s offer so much more control. No Joke!

Want. Where did you get these? Were they much trouble to install; what did you tie them to? Do they come on automatically when you open the doors? Auto-off?
