We have touchdown: passenger side coil & shock installed. Front coil and shocks replacement "sub-project" completed.
Passenger side:
After getting her shoes back on, we took it out for a cross town pizza & brew run to Bennidittos.
Initial impression: yaay! The suspension is actually working for the first time since we bought it. Second impression: it's a lot longer step down to the ground lol. Third impression (and kind of odd): it might be coincidence, but I've lost the drive-train "clunk" sound when coming to a stop too fast, and then letting off the brakes (only time will tell if that stays true).
The center-axle-to-flare height for the front is approximately 19 inches ...which means that the Moog CC782/Crown 4886186AA fr/rr combo coupled to the JK Rubi "red" shocks netted approx. 1 1/2 inches lift newly installed. Not quite ideal fr/rr (I need another half inch in the front), but still: good 'nuff fer guvmint werk heh.
...and pretty decent value-wise too.
The Moogs are online at $55 plus s/h (RockAuto), I paid $140 (delivered!) for the Crowns last November (StreetsideAuto), $40 for Energy Suspension polys (rear leaf set: that was an "unintentional" purchase that I meant to return btw ...but it worked out in the end, as polys are VERY easy to install), and $50 for the used JK Rubi shocks (Craigslist). So: $285 for a "new" suspension. Not bad.
I'll have before-and-after pix tomorrow, time permitting. And - same caveat - I'll measure lift using the factory method.
