Honestly I'd be more worried about keeping that animal cool especially when wheeling during the summer. It's an awesome swap, just not sure if it would be my choice for a wheeling vehicle. I'd go diesel before I went small block, seems a better fit.

I'd like a 4bt swap without the price tag lol. We should get back con topic, though.

Your right, took some measurements today still determined to save my stock flares. Extended bump stops, trimming the quarter to the flare mounting holes and trimming the inside if the flare should allow the tire to tuck if I measured correctly. I know, I know, not worth the effort. I'm on a mission to do it because I was told I couldn't

Don't apologize, I'm doing the same thing. I personally just like the looks of the stock flare, so I'm paying the price in effort to make it work. I've trimmed up to the flare mounting surface, but classwork has stalled my efforts for the next couple weeks. Need to cut the front flares to match the front fender cuts, then its all about finding some low-pro hardware to remount them. I'll keep an eye on your build thread...

Same plans I have The only other option I could possibly live with is the Notch Customs Flares. If this doesn't work I'll order them.

My boss's son had an ls2 in his xj. It did great. It was built by a guy here in Chattanooga, there is a build thread on naxja about it.

Are you using the spray on bedliner from duplicolor?
I picked up a can this last fall and it is peeling all over on my rockers (Below the body line, like your doing.) I'm thinking of rubbing it off and plasti-dipping it. That would stick much better and honestly it would look very similar.

Hit up some local trails and ended up hitting a rock and breaking my muffler right where it attaches to the cat. Bungied it up, drove up and removed the entire catback. Running just the cat now and going to straight pipe it this weekend.

That 2.5 is a strong little motor and it will last forever

Lol perfect opportunity!
I'm planning on doing the same after the cat but I'll cut the muffler off in a way where I can still put it back on if needed

Yeah that is kind of the plan. Leave a couple uppers in to hold it. I have a collection of wobbles and extensions, and crowfoots. That will all throw of torque settings but close enough

I read that someone actually assembled the intake/exhaust prior to installing the head, and just put them in as one unit. Idk if that will work??? Going to follow the FSM
