Did you have any problem getting your torx screws out of your door hinges? My bottom ones are frozen solid and will not budge. Hopefully there is a trick to it.

I stripped one out. Other than that i used my 18 volt DeWalt it took 1 battery per door. The one i stripped was at the junk yard before i broke out the sawzall.
The only trick i can really think of is i put the drill on the rotor hammer setting, and threw my body weight in with it. and thats what it took.

Default Permanently Cross-Threaded Front Differential fill plug

The front differential fill plug on my 97 Sport (Dana 30 axle) was cross-threaded and screwed all the way in by the fast lube kids. Nothing, including cold chisels and easy-outs could break it free. I finally bought a new differential cover from J-Ds, which came with a plug in it, and featured a massive male lug, as opposed to the OEM recessed plug. Victory!

I could not even drill out successfully the plug on the original diff cover, and ended up having to discard it.

I love my old Cherokee! 226,000 miles, one Oxygen sensor, one alternator, and a couple sets of brakes. And it looks like a Jeep, not a goofy little, rounded, looks-like-every-other vehicle on the road thing.

Also found out today that not only did I do that but also did something to the transfercase linkage. I's stuck between 4HI and 4LO like it's in neutral and it also won't go past 4HI or into 4LO much les 2HI. Any ideas on what's wrong would be great. Have rebuilt BG (fullsize bronco) transfercase before (chain driven) but don't know anything about NP

The NP's are chain driven too, they're actually really simple once you tear it apart and get a look at it.

I assume you have the NP231, honestly, I've only torn in to the NP242, but from what I understand, the 231 should be even simpler.

It's probably the linkage though, just get under there and make sure the linkage isn't broken or snagged or anything...
